Dan Krill is a father, educator, and songwriter. He double-majored in math education and philosophy (Bachelor's of Science, Letters and Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison), then earned his master’s from UW-Madison in math education with an emphasis on learning sciences (Master's of Science, Curriculum & Instruction, University of Wisconsin-Madison). He has taught secondary and post-secondary math for over 20 years. He currently works as a 5-12 math/science coach in south-eastern Wisconsin.

Dan began his teaching career as a software trainer for UW-Madison, a summer math instructor for the PEOPLE program, and a YMCA camp counselor. Though each setting was unique in content and audience, they all required high engagement without a grading system. It was those experiences that shaped Dan's love of project-based, personalized learning. Fortunately, Dan's passion for writing, performing, and recording music became a metaphor for how to transfer those skills to a more traditional classroom. His instructional practices regularly include student voice and choice as well as product development for an authentic audience.
